Description: The sidewalk centerline was provided to Century as a starting point for creating a fully attributed product that classifies the centerline based on material, width ranges, type (sidewalk, crosswalk, driveway, etc.), public/private. To aid with this process, Century Engineering developed an intermediate dataset that contained points at starting and ending points of each of these variance categories. The attribution and geometry edits of the centerline were accomplished manually via heads up display editing due to the complexity of the variance dataset. MD iMap's 6 inch imagery, the attributed variance points, and field photos served as the primary information sources for confirming / editing sidewalk variances. Finally, the resulting centerline dataset was used to systematically identify segments of sidewalk that did not contain at least 5 foot of passable space every 200 feet, which were generated as sidewalk obstacle points in the swalk_obst feature class.
